For People of Color, Inc. is glad to announce that Mr. José Luis López has rejoined its board of directors.
José is currently an attorney at Gunderson Dettmer. He was previously an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. José graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he was co-president of the student body and Editor-in-Chief of the California Law Review. During law school, he served as an extern to the Honorable Jeremy Fogel in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Prior to law school, José taught in public schools as a New York City Teaching Fellow and earned a Master’s degree in Education from Lehman College of the City University of New York. He also served on the City of Berkeley Housing Advisory Commission, and was a board member for Stiles Hall.
José was the first person in his family to attend college. He received his B.A. in English from the University of California at Berkeley, where he served as the vice president of the student body. José was born and raised in San José, California.
