Jose L. Lopez is General Counsel at Zeplin, where he oversees the company’s legal, regulatory and compliance issues.   He was previously Head of Legal at Samsung Next, corporate counsel at Salesforce, and an associate at the law firms of Gunderson Dettmer and Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Jose is a Lecturer at the UC Berkeley School of Law, where he teaches a transactional practice course.

Jose is a Commissioner on the Board of Appeals for the City and County of San Francisco. He is an appointee of Mayor London Breed and his term ends in July 2024.

Jose graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the California Law Review. Prior to law school, Jose taught in public schools as a New York City Teaching Fellow and earned a Master’s degree in Education from CUNY – Lehman College. He received his B.A. in English from UC Berkeley and was born and raised in San Jose, California.
