Latina Lawyers Bar Association – Bar Stipend Application

The Latina Lawyers Bar Association announces a bar stipend program for law students enrolled at a law school in California. The scholarship program will award bar stipends to outstanding law students. The bar stipend funds may be used towards the expenses related to preparation for the California Bar Examination. Preference will be given to Latina law students.

Eligibility Requirements

  1.  A current applicant for the California State Bar
  2.  Demonstrated community service
  3.  Demonstrated overall commitment to the Latina community
  4.  Demonstrated potential to succeed
  5.  Financial Need

Application, Selection and Award Process
Students must complete the application in full, including all required attachments.

Bar Stipends
Applicant must be a current applicant for the California Bar Examination. A completed application form and all required attachments must be turned in by April 2, 2018. Please email the application and all required attachments in a single PDF file to scholarships@llbalaw.org. Applications and attachments submitted in multiple files and not in a single PDF file may not be considered.

Bar Stipend finalists will be contacted to set up interviews by mid-April or early May. A committee, composed of Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members and Scholarship Committee Members, will select the award recipients.  Bar stipends will be issued in May.

Bar stipend awards will be presented at the Latina Lawyers Bar Association Annual Installation and Awards Dinner the following Fall. Attendance is required. Please note that Latina Lawyers Bar Association Board Members and their family members are not eligible for this scholarship/bar stipend award.
