For People of Color, Inc. Spring Fundraiser

Dear Friends,

In 2000, I founded For People of Color, Inc. (“FPOC”) during my first year in law school to assist first-generation students and students of color successfully navigate the law school application process. After graduating from law school and commencing my legal career, a group of my closest friends and colleagues and I formally incorporated the organization into a 501(c)(3) corporation.

During the past 23 years, FPOC has assisted thousands of students with their law school applications. Every year, we hold law school admissions workshops at all of California’s public law schools. We have also held law school admissions conferences at Columbia Law School in New York City. We do not charge any fees for our services and everyone is welcome to attend our events, view our online videos, and download our materials.

The conferences are organized by current law students who previously attended FPOC’s events and credit FPOC, at least in part, with their gaining admission to some of the country’s best law schools.

I am incredibly proud of FPOC and I am committed to continuing our efforts to ensure that the legal profession genuinely reflects our society’s diversity. At the risk of stating the obvious, these are incredibly challenging times. But, I find solace and inspiration in the thousands of students I meet yearly who are committed to uplifting their families, communities, and themselves. Their tenacity, perseverance, and courage are humbling, and serving them in this capacity is an honor.

We need your help to continue our legacy into the next 20 years. Please consider investing in FPOC by making a donation either online or by sending a check made payable to:
